Evolving Ourselves and Taking Care of Ourselves

As many of you know, I'm more attuned to and with the growing movement of conscious evolution, a movement of artists, scientists, environmentalists, spiritual leaders, entrepreneurs and people from diverse walks of life around the world, seeking to raise awareness among young and old, that we have the power as a human species to co-create our future, beginning now, and create a sustainable world of peace, harmony, justice that works for all. This movement speaks to an evolving spiritual consciousness that accepts our Oneness with all and our responsibility to heal and transform ourselves AND heal our planet.

Given the intensity and depth of rapid changes occurring on all levels: economic, ecological, cultural, as well as in business and commerce, education and government, no one is untouched emotionally, psychically or physically. We can feel the anxiety and fear among some grappling with the uncertainty about what's occurring; what's going to happen next; or how can I cope with it all.

I'm increasingly concerned about the elevated stress demonstrated in people; obesity, memory impairment, elevated blood pressure, migraines and lack of focus. And I'm concerned about the stress of the planet expressed by the earthquake in Haiti, volcanic eruptions in Iceland, wildfires in Russia, floods in Pakistan........not to speak of human-made disasters wreaking havoc on our precious planet.

We are inextricably linked to each other, Mother Earth and all sentient beings.

How are you taking care of yourself?

Although I've always made stress release, self-care and pampering a priority, during these times it is absolutely essential to engage in daily stress release practices such as meditation, yoga, chi gong, therapeutic massage, walking in nature.....and regular get-aways to unwind, unplug, and simply "be still."

What are you doing to nurture yourself and others?

Those of us who come through these times relatively intact are those who are open, flexible and willing to adapt, which means letting go of what's no longer working or viable, individually and collectively. It's a waste of energy struggling to maintain the so-called status quo, because the paradigms of patriarchy, exploitation and greed, violence and war simply don't work! Our future as a human species on this planet and the future for our children and grandchildren demand something radically different, equitable, sacred and sustainable!

Why not join together in cooperation and collaboration to vision, co-create and evolve communities, systems and institutions anchored with life-affirming values, respect for one another and Mother Earth. And why not start taking better care of ourselves, our neighbors, colleagues, and all that has been provided on Mother Earth--and in Nature, one step at a time, one day at a time.

Are you willing? Please share with me how, as our time is now......

Living in the Let Go

This morning I connected with my prayer partner in gratitude for the good in my life now and the greater good that is also revealing itself now. Although I admitted that I hadn’t slept the night before because there were things in my life that didn’t feel settled or resolved, I framed the discomfort as the feeling that comes before the breakthrough. Indeed it is the breakthrough that transforms any notion of uncertainty or stuckness into clarity and freedom.

So what do I mean when I use the term ‘living in the let go’. I believe it is a term used by Spiritual Master, Dr. Michael Bernard Beckwith, Founder of Agape International Spiritual Center. For me the phrase means 'allowing and accepting' , that in the midst of life’s vicissitudes, the challenges and struggles that we encounter, rather than worrying, trying to figure it out or fix it, just stop, be still and surrender. Let go and let God, trusting that God has it handled, resolved, done.

Can you imagine just for a moment, letting it all go, allowing it to be received and transformed, in and through the love, peace, joy and grace of God. How does that feel?

I know that there is a Master Plan for my life and your life too. As a spiritual being having a human experience, it’s my task to be in alignment with the Master Plan. Again this means allowing and accepting that the way, the solution and the breakthrough is already in our midst, in our actual being. In our surrender and letting go, it is revealed, it is handled, it is done.

That’s how living in the let go allows me to experience peace, freedom and gratitude in my life, (regardless of appearances).

Do you have a story of living in the let go that you’d like to share?
